Congratulations to the PCJH Student of the Week, Liza Taulbee! Liza, an 8th grader, was nominated by Mrs. Harms, who wrote, "It has been my pleasure to work with Liza for the past two years. During this time, I have witnessed her grow in her grace, maturity, and advocacy for herself and others. This year, I have been doubly blessed to have her both as a student in my ELA class and an active representative in Student Council. Liza displays an incredible work ethic both in and out of the classroom. As a veteran to the council, Liza has shown great leadership by helping the new members grow our council and school presence. She has a knack for seeing a need and speaking up and/or organizing those around her to take care of the immediate need. Liza is quick to help those around her and volunteers to help teachers and students alike. Liza is dependable and positive, and I count myself truly lucky to know her! I can’t wait to see what her future has in store!" Liza is involved in Choir, Student Council, Speech Team, and Scholastic Bowl.

Today is the first day PCE students can view our Kindness eWall, an electronic dashboard where students, staff and families can submit positive messages. As students and staff walk past the tv, they see these positive and encouraging messages. We also have it displayed in our cafeteria today. If you have something to submit, please use this link! https://youuplift.com/prairie-central-school-district-kindness-wall/?fbclid=IwY2xjawHJTR9leHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHbMqzwm8zZq5dOzUnw8I5GW7JPCyQqrKt9hBRtj7CUeWRbP6cCbHek57zQ_aem_Xauj7crDyia75OE5c5D92g

The 8th grade STEAM class is working hard to design, build, and program their Lego EV3 Mindstorm robots! This project has taken them several weeks to complete - reinforcing engineering, problem-solving, and programming skills. It is so awesome watching them turn a box of legos into things like puppies that can walk and bark!

Congratulations to the PCJH Athlete of the Week, Kole Steidinger! Kole, an 8th grader, was nominated by Coach Johnson, who wrote, "This year Kole has taken on a leadership role right from the first day of tryouts and has continued to be a great team leader for us through the year. His leadership with his teammates has helped us start out the year with a 6-2 record and lead us to a county tournament championship. Kole is one of the hardest workers on the team which also sets the standard for everyone else to follow. Kole has worked hard at getting better with his point guard responsibilities and it has made a big difference in our team's success. I look forward to watching Kole continue to develop as a point guard and grow as a leader and basketball player." Kole is also involved in football and FFA.

Congratulations to the PCJH Student of the Week, Aaralyn Bogucki! Aaralyn, an 8th grader, was nominated by Ms. Eshleman, who wrote, "Aaralyn is such a focused, hardworking student. She always makes sure her work is complete and if she happens to be absent she dutifully retrieves her missing work and completes it immediately. Beyond academics, I have personally witnessed her kind heart as well! She cares about the feelings of her teachers and her classmates, but more importantly, she's not afraid to express that kindness directly to the recipient. A friend came to her one day to show her that she got a "good news note" and Aaralyn told her she was so proud of her. I watched that student light up with pride after she said that, which made me SO PROUD of Aaralyn! :)" Aaralyn is also involved in yearbook, library aide, softball, and volleyball.
