Congratulations to the PCJH Students of the Week, Paige Leman and Lucy Roth! Paige and Lacy, both 7th graders, were nominated by Mrs. Wenger, who wrote, "This week in ELA, we studied foreshadowing and flashback. A quote that demonstrates foreshadowing is from the classic children’s book Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White. In it, Charlotte explains to Wilbur why she wove webs for him, saying, "By helping you, perhaps I was trying to lift up my life a trifle. Heaven knows anyone's life can stand a little of that.” Two of my students exemplify that helping others is one way to bring meaning to our own lives. Both Lucy Roth and Paige Leman are amazing helpers in my classroom. They often anticipate things that need doing around the classroom and do them. Neither wait for the teacher to ask them to pitch in. Likewise, when they notice a classmate who needs a little extra help, they quietly help that student. They assist others, offer guidance, and are always willing to lend a hand. I fully believe that if I left my To-Do list in plain sight, they would check off all of my tasks!" Paige is also involved in Student Council, and Lucy is also involved in Yearbook.

Congratulations to the PCJH Athlete of the Week, Addisyn Donley! Addisyn, an 8th grader, was nominated by Coach Meister, who wrote, "Addi is one of the true vocal leaders on the softball team and works hard in practices to make herself a better player. She is an outstanding catcher behind the plate, moving well and blocking balls in the dirt. She has a strong arm and is great at throwing runners out. She also plays third base anytime I need her to, and is currently leading the team in batting average, and is top four in every offensive category. She is a joy to coach!" Addisyn is also involved in basketball, volleyball, and track.

Congratulations to the PCJH Student of the Week, Nathan Buchenau! Nate, an 8th grader, was nominated by Mr. Grant, who wrote, "Nathan is an exemplary student and a positive role model for his peers. Nathan leads by example. Nathan demonstrates responsibility, respect, hard-work ethic, and a positive attitude. Nathan interacts with his peers in a positive manner. He is willing to help his peers and provides positive support when they need help during group work. Lastly, Nathan demonstrates his academic strengths in the quality of work he has shown in his writing and in his Social Studies work. I appreciate all of the great things that Nathan brings to the classroom and to our school. Besides his academic strengths Nathan is a member of Student Council, Track, FFA, and Baseball. As a result of his contributions, Nathan is a great reminder and a great reflection of the Junior High’s mission: Self Motivated, Open-Minded Individuals, Aspiring for Excellence, Showing Respect and Responsibility, Inspiring Life-Long Learning, Nurturing Creativity and Growth Mindsets as Productive Citizens."
