Congratulations to the PCJH Student of the Week, Zylar Roberts!
Zylar is a 12-year-old 7th grader from Fairbury, and is the son of Stephanie Hamm (of Fairbury) and Brandon Roberts (of Bourbonnais). Zylar was nominated by Mrs. Folwell, who writes: "Zylar is a new student to the district and has transitioned well into math class this year. He is polite and has a smile on his face during class. Zylar participates with effort in our activities and agrees to help whenever asked. I'm excited to follow Zylar through his education, as he has so many great aspirations. I'm enjoying getting to know Zylar. Zylar plays percussion in band at PCJH. He also enjoys playing video games, listening to music, drawing, and the martial arts. Zylar wants to be a video game designer."
Congratulations to the PCJH Athlete of the Week, Jace Bauman!
Jace is a 13-year-old 7th grader from Fairbury, and is the son of Chad Bauman & Leslie Cherveny. Jace was nominated by Coach Whitfill, who wrote: "Jace stepped right in as a 7th grader to be a leader on the team, be that a quiet leader, he leads by example. Primarily playing first base, Jace is a coachable player that always has a smile on his face. I can always count on Jace to work hard and do whatever is asked of him. I look forward to seeing Jace grow and improve as an 8th grader. With his attitude and work ethic I have no doubt Jace will be successful both on and off the field in the future." Jace also participates in travel baseball, basketball & youth group.

PCJH's Stars of the Week are Reese Weber (Student of the Week) and Aubrey Atkins (Athlete of the Week).
Reese Weber is a 13-year-old 8th grader from Fairbury, and the daughter of Andrew and Kara Weber. Reese has a servant's heart and brings joy to all encounters. She joined Student Council as a 7th grader and is now the president of our council. Reese is incredibly dedicated to her responsibilities within the council, always assisting in organizing activities as well as supporting the staff and students at PCJH. This summer, Reese came in to work on the welcome bulletin board and helped chalk the sidewalks prior to the first day of student attendance. She has taken it upon herself to reorganize the Council's tasks to streamline the processes to make this year and future years run as smoothly as possible. In addition to Student Council, Reese has also taken on the job as student librarian. She is also a member of the PCJH choir, CARES Clowns, and basketball team. In her free time, Reese helps out at the Friedman family race shop. We are truly blessed to have her as part of the PCJH Hawk family and can't wait to see what this year has in store for Reese!
Aubrey Atkins is a 14-year-old 8th grader from Weston, and the daughter of Dean and Darcy Atkins. Aubrey plays softball, basketball, volleyball, and runs track. Away from school, she enjoys riding four-wheelers and tubing with her friends and family. Aubrey is very outgoing and never needs to be encouraged to speak up and communicate with the team and coaching staff. She started the season playing centerfield, but when we needed her to switch to third base, she really took to that position and solidified our infield defense. Aubrey leads the team in most offensive categories, including batting average, on base percentage, OPS, base hits, and runs scored.
Congratulations, ladies!
