The Meal Waiver application will open in August once all Direct Certification letters are mailed out to eligible families.
If your family will receive a Direct Certification letter from Susan Cavazos, Food Services Director in July, nothing more needs to be done to qualify for meal discounts, and any applicable fee waivers will be applied to accounts at appropriate points through the school year.
If your family does not expect to receive (or does not receive) a Direct Certification letter, in order to apply for a fee waiver, families must first complete the NSLP lunch application within the Parent Portal (Click on More, then Meal Benefits) when it opens in August.
You will receive a letter in the mail with the results of that application, and if you qualify, a Fee Waiver Application will be included.
The Fee Waiver Application must be completed and returned to the Prairie Central Unit Office with all of the required documentation (Paystubs, tax returns, etc...) included or the application will not be processed, and fees will not be eligible for a waiver.
